Kimbolton Sculpture Festival

April 6 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free

The Kimbolton Sculpture Festival is an annual festival at Kimbolton that promotes and celebrates the creativity of rural people throughout New Zealand, who create sculptures which showcase and capture the essence of New Zealand’s rural landscape, its nature and communities. Sculptures are constructed from natural or manufactured materials commonly associated with farming or rural landscapes.

It provides an opportunity for people who would not normally call themselves artists to have a go and enter the New Zealand Rural Sculpture Awards, with total prize money pool of $15,000, and in doing so benefit from the improved mental health and well-being that is associated with art creation.

The festival brings these sculptures together, along with a vibrant, rural-focused programme that will entertain, encourage participation, and inform the public, and includes outstanding sculptures, fine art and craft exhibitions, heritage art demonstrations, live music, art in action, craft stalls, children’s creative activities, vintage cars, and family entertainment.
