Three-year partnership to strengthen support in Wairoa & CHB

Weave Hawke’s Bay is proud to announce a new three-year partnership with Eastern & Central Community Trust (ECCT), supporting the expansion and strengthening of services in Central Hawke’s Bay and Wairoa.

The partnership recognises the significant needs facing rural communities, where access to timely, specialist support can be limited by distance, workforce shortages, and funding constraints. ECCT’s investment will help Weave continue building a strong, locally embedded presence in both rohe, ensuring whānau can access the right support, in the right place, at the right time.

Weave Hawke’s Bay has been steadily growing its services in Central Hawke’s Bay and Wairoa, delivering counselling, whānau support, financial mentoring, and community-based programmes in collaboration with local partners. This partnership provides longer-term certainty to support that mahi, enabling Weave to plan sustainably, strengthen its workforce, and work alongside communities to respond to local priorities.

Weave Hawke’s Bay CEO Kerry Henderson says the partnership is an important vote of confidence in the organisation’s kaupapa and regional approach.

“This partnership with ECCT recognises both the depth of need in rural Hawke’s Bay and the importance of investing in locally delivered, whānau-centred support,” Kerry says.

“It allows us to continue building trusted relationships in Central Hawke’s Bay and Wairoa, strengthen our workforce, and ensure our services are accessible, culturally responsive, and sustainable over time.”

ECCT CEO David Clapperton says ECCT is pleased to support Weave’s growing impact in rural and isolated communities.
